Currently, there are no upcoming events scheduled. (But we're working on one!)
The ultimate goal of the AILDT is the wide-spread use of the beautiful and ancient Irish tongue as a spoken language. Thusly, we sponsor the local Language Classes, which are free of charge and open to the general public. Come down to learn Irish and have a bit of craic (fun) while you're at it!
There are two levels currently available, both of which are held at the House of Ireland in Balboa Park. Please contact the instructor for current dates.

Watch Classes On-line! Videos of many of the classes are now available on Caemgen's YouTube Channel. Many, many thanks to Caemgen! Handouts from these classes are available at Shanti Hofshi's website.
Irish Class Yahoo! Group: The SanDiegoIrish Yahoo! Group is a message board for those attending or just interested in the Irish classes held in San Diego.
Aisling at The
Lyceum, 2002 - Aisling is a play performed in Irish with running
English translations and a whole lot of music, song, dance, and artistry mixed
in! Aisling premiered before a
full house at The
Lyceum Theater, Horton Plaza, located in the historic Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego,
on Saturday, January 26, 2002. The show was a spectacular success, a night
of laughter and entertainment thoroughly enjoyed by all!

2003 Saint Patrick's Day
Parade - The AILDT marched with the House of
Ireland in full costume. Even though it was a little wet that day,
everyone had a lot of fun! Everybody loves a parade! Visit our Pictures

2003 House of Ireland Lawn
Program - Every St. Patrick's Day weekend, the House of
Ireland hosts a one-hour program of Irish entertainment in Balboa Park, with tasty
refreshments available. This year, the AILDT
performed a dance
segment from the play Aisling in full costume.
2003 Roots Festival
- This is an annual, two day street fair to celebrate the many
cultural heritages to be found in the San Diego area. The 2003 festival
honoree was the late David Page. Accomplished on the uilleann pipes,
accordion, tin whistle, and many other instruments, David brought traditional
Irish music to San Diego by playing and teaching everywhere he could. In
his honor, the AILDT performed a few dance segments as well as an
excerpt from the play Aisling. Visit our Pictures

Foinse
- The Aisling Irish
Language and Drama Troupe was featured in Foinse, the
largest all Irish Language newspaper in Ireland. A full page, full color
article was written by Irene Ní
Nualláin and published in the July 6, 2003, edition (Imleabhar 7, Uimhir
349). The article covered how the Aisling Troupe was founded, discussed
our on-going classes and future projects, and featured several photographs from
this website.
2004 Saint Patrick's Day
Parade - The AILDT once again marched proudly through the streets of
downtown in full costume. This was the second year the troupe participated
in this annual tradition.
2004 House of Ireland Lawn
Program - Every St. Patrick's Day weekend, the House of
Ireland hosts a one-hour program of Irish entertainment in Balboa Park,
always accompanied by tasty
refreshments. This year, members of the AILDT
showed their pride by dancing in full costume, as well as joining the House of
Ireland singers for some traditional tunes in both Irish and English. Many
members of the AILDT are also members of the House of Ireland.
Aisling at The
East County Performing Arts Center, 2004 - The breakthrough play Aisling performed
a second run at the East County Performing Arts Center in El Cajon,
on Saturday, June 26, 2004. The show was even better than the first time
around, full of pageantry, energy, and entertainment!

2008 Irish Language Day - The AILDT's
first annual Irish Language Day was held at the Hall of Nations in Balboa
Park. It was an all-day Irish
language experience for all levels, filled with learning, poetry, song, drama,
games, and lots of refreshments. A great time was had by all. Visit our Pictures
